Looking after our physical and mental wellbeing is not just limited to our daily lives, but can also be a part of our pastimes too, including the love of reading that so many of us bookworms have.
Self-care for bookworms can be a delightful experience that combines the love of reading with activities that promote overall well-being and to ensure that reading doesn’t become a source of stress.
I have put together some top tips to get you started:
#1 Create a comfortable reading environment

Invest in a comfortable chair or if you read on your bed why not try a cuddle cushion or some cozy cushions and soft blankets.
#2 The right lighting

You might think that natural light is the best lighting for reading but a reading lamp tends to provide the right amount of light without straining your eyes.
#3 Get your eyes checked on a regular basis

You use your eyes a lot especially if you are a bookworm, so it is always a good idea to get your eyes checked out by an opticians on a regular basis. More so if you notice any changes with your eyes or eye sight, and if you already wear glasses you need to ensure they are still the right ones for you. I’m not I don’t need to tell you to always wear your glasses if that’s what they were prescribed for.
#4 Take breaks and stretch out your body

Sitting in the same position for hours is not good for your neck and back, so make sure you take regular breaks from reading and stretch your body and move about.
#5 Keep hydrated

Drink plenty of water throughout the day, especially when reading for extended periods and keep a small snack handy for when you get peckish.
